Evoking a sense of healing through in between spaces •
A halfway house is a step-down facility offering residential programmes for ex-offenders to facilitate their rehabilitation and gradual reintegration into the community upon release from prison. This project redefines a halfway house that offers residents space for personal self-transformation through healing. Embedding healing functions into transitional spaces and spatially creating moments of pauses between daily structured routines, this instils self-reflection and evoke a sense of willingness among residents to bring change from within.
